The Board of Deacons

The Purpose and Role of the Board of Deacons is to be servant leaders and wise visionaries for the church. This is not a role requires humility, spiritual maturity and a discerning mind. As servant-leaders, the Deacon endeavours to put others ahead of himself or herself, and to encourage the spiritual development of all in our church and community.

Some of the responsibilities of this Board are:

• Serving in the observance of The Lord’s Supper.
• Interviewing and encouraging persons seeking baptism and/or church membership.
• Conflict management and accountability.
• Pastoral advisors and encouragers.
• Administration of the Benevolent Fund and Camp Fund, providing assistance to those in financial need.
• Providing for the ministries of the church in the absence of a pastor (such as vacation).
• Various other leadership and visioning activities.

The Board of Deacons also stand ready to hear your needs and concerns, and to assist you as best as they can. We encourage you to contact the Pastor, or to approach a deacon at the church for any needs you may have.
